Design 1813 Circe


Not to be confused with design #852, this Circe was built by Robert E. Derecktor of Mamaroneck, New York. She was launched in 1966. While the arrangement and equipment are typical of a motorsailer from the period, every effort was made to obtain the sailing performance of an ocean racer. Weight savings through the use of aluminum construction was a help in achieving that goal. The owners design brief listed just three objectives: speed, comfort and handsome appearance.
